Google adds QR code for review requests

Google adds QR code for review requests

This week Google has added the ability for businesses to generate a QR code that when scanned will take users to Google to leave a review for your business.

Despite QR codes being around for a long time, they were virtually ignored until the Pandemic years, when suddenly businesses started to use them for everything from ordering food in a restaurant, to logging into your Apple+ TV app.

Now they are more of an accepted and used thing, it makes sense for Google to have introduced this for helping businesses to get reviews.

How to get your QR code

The simplest way to access your QR code is:

  1. Login to your Google account that’s attached to your Business Profile
  2. Search for your business name
  3. In the ‘Your business on Google’ section at the top, click ‘Ask for reviews’.

You will then get the pop-up box with the standard link, the options for Email, Whatsapp and Facebook and now your QR code:

To download this, just right-click on the QR code and save the image.

Where to use them

There’s several different ways you can use the QR code to provide customers with an easy way to leave a review for your business, including:

  • Add it to any printed receipts or invoices
  • Add to posters/signage instore
  • Add on any flyers/postcards that you print (for example ones you include in each order you send out)
  • Add it to the end of any online chat conversations
  • Include in your email communications and newsletters – some people will be reading them on one device, so then will scan with another.
