Search Console launches ‘24 hour view’ for better performance data

Google has recently launched new functionality for its Search Console tool, that now allows users to have fresher data with a ‘24 hours’ view.

This is great news for marketers and website owners, as one previous limitation of Search Console was that the data showing in the Performance report area of the tool was delayed. This meant you could not quickly adapt to any changes seen within the data and then make updates to your website accordingly.

According to Google, the new ‘24 hours’ view will appear with only a few hours delay and will be useful to help you:

  • Check the performance of content you published in the past day
  • Understand how your pages and queries are performing in almost real-time
  • See what search queries are resulting in users finding and clicking through to your website.

For us, this could be really useful if you have just launched a campaign and want to get an idea of whether it’s impacting people searching for the campaign or your brand name.

It would also be good if you have published a new piece of ‘hero’ content and you want to ensure that it’s being found for the key terms you were hoping to rank it for.

Example of the new Search Console dashboard with the ‘24 hours’ view.

To see the 24 hours view, simply login to your Search Console account and click Performance in the main navigation. You can then choose the 24 hours view and select a search type to view – web, image, video or News.

You can also then add a filter to choose what data to view – Query, Page, Country, Device and Search appearance.

The data displayed will be automatically for your local time zone.

These changes will be rolled out gradually over the next few months, so keep checking your Search Console dashboard to see if you have the new view enabled – although we’ve spotted it already in some accounts we have access to.
